Don't Let Me Fall

As composers and musicians, Monamo believes that we can contribute to the development of liturgical singing and make it better and more beautiful. This we attempt by composing pieces that would draw today's listener into the inherent beauty of the songs and the unwavering relevance of their lyrics. We attempted to create a musical tapestry that merges  together elements of jazz, classical music and folk music while maintaining the authentic melody and phrasing of the lyrics. We avoided patterns and musical solutions found in pop music, lest the pieces would end up being a "Trojan horse" suggesting some different values than they originally intended. Art speaks first and foremost to fantasy and sets of sentiments through which it eventually reaches the intellect. We would not have found it desirable if the listener had associated any of this music with the materialistic values pop industry represents.

The enchanting beauty of the songs on this album draw upon what Christ had given us through his life, death and resurrection. In like manner the Protestant spirit finds miracle not in what it does or can do, but in all things God had done for us.

"So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy"
